Some food with your education?

Indian food in class is always a good thing

So this week has been pretty busy, but kinda fun at the same time...

South Asia class was pretty awesome this week. Monday, we walked to the British Museum to see the finished Durga but found out it had been moved to Camden, so we walked there and saw it.

We were going to go down to the Thames that afternoon to see it placed in the river (as part of a Hindu festival) but it ended up being to far away. The next day, we just went to a Bangladeshi Indian restaurant and ate Indian food. It was tasty, and AHA paid for it. That was class. We talked about a bit of stuff, but it was mostly just eating food.

I had three papers due this week. A reflection paper in South Asia, another in ICC, and one in Art & Architecture where I had to describe a Norman castle and a Gothic cathedral.

Tomorrow we're going to Southall for the day. Southall is essentially Little India. It's a community of about 70,000 people, mostly immigrants from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, plus some twice-migrants from East Africa. We're visiting a Sikh temple, getting Indian food paid for (again :-) ) and having free time to just explore. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm also going to see In Extremis at the Globe Saturday afternoon. It's based on the story of Abelard and Heloise. Sometime next week I think we're going to see Othello, too. I may go see a Four Seasons concert at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Saturday night. Have to check on tickets though.

It's the weekend for me now, so I'm gonna get up off the computer and try to go do something.
