A visit and mid-terms

Darcee and I in front of a replica of the Golden Hinde.

A good friend of mine came to visit me this weekend.  It was great fun to meander about London with her; lots of talking and book shopping as well as a list of sites -  Greenwich, Borough Market, the south bank, Southwark Cathedral, National Portrait Gallery, Covent Gardens and Regent’s Park.   Best of all was just spending time with her, but second best was our excellent find… We found this gorgeous old book shop, packed with books - wonderful books!  Old and new titles, paper back, hard back, leather bound.  I haven’t spent much time in bookshops, here in London, yet, but this shop will stay on my top five favorites list.

Since I was happily distracted all weekend I didn’t do any studying then, so this week has been pretty busy. But now, on the other side of all that studying, it was well worth it, I’m sure. I’m very glad to be done for the sake of being done, but most of all I’m really excited because spring break has begun and tomorrow I fly to Italy!
