Pre-departure Jitters
I'm leaving on a Jet Plane; don't know when I'll be back again. OK, it's not quite that dramatic, but you get the idea.
Here I am sitting at the bar inside the terminal dinking coffee and trying not to be so nervous about flying to Madrid on my own and being immersed in a foreign culture and language. I swear, I have checked my pockets at least a dozen times to make sure my passport and visa were there. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t at least a little nervous.
On another note, I am not the kind of person who expected to get all teary eyed over leaving everyone, but I must admit it was a little sad. I am sure once I get over there, everything will be too new and exciting to miss anyone. I said all my goodbyes, and even had a few send-off dinners and parties, which consisted of great food and the most nifty little travel packets. I have everything from brush-ups for the plane to miniature lent rollers and first-aid kits I have developed a slight obsession with miniature travel stuff. I am sooooo set.....I think.
Well, I had better put up my laptop and pay attention to my flight. Wouldn’t it be a bummer if I missed it now. I will upload this as soon as I get an internet connection. Hasta la vista en Segovia.
