It's getting better every day.

Now that I have had time to catch my breath, get over the jet-lag, and take in the beauty of Segovia, things are not looking so overwhellming. Actually, they are looking pretty good. I am learning Spanish at a rapid rate and love my classes. Segovia is absolutly beautiful; it is rich in culture and history while still being alive and hip especially at night. I walk by the aweinspiring aqueduct everyday on my way to school. For a Latin student and lover of the classics, need I say more.

Since I have been here, I have seen multiple kinds of architecture in churches, buildings, and of course the aqueduct. I have tried new dishes, some that were like heaven, and other that I could definitly live without - Do not worry, I will have a whole blog dedicated to food later. The night life here is awesome—and I don’t mean the clubs—here everyone from children to grandparents go out to socialize until one or two in the morning. My theory is that they take siestas or naps during the day, so they can go out late at night and have a good time. I have come to love siestas here in Segovia.

Ok, on to the excursions. We went to the Castlillo de Cuéllar and the Castillo de Coca. But of course on the way we had to stop at the famous Nieva Winery, where they make the famous Spanish wine, Blanco de Nieva. There, we were able to learn about wine and how it is made, and of course we had to sample and buy some of the wine. Between the beauty of the castles and the fun of the wine, it was a very memorable excursion.
